Just a small thank you to students and staff at Huddersfield University who made my first evening back at Lockside, LS2.10 so pleasureable. I am looking forward to working with you all in the coming academic year.

Just to make clear that I think that Huddersfield is a great, but distinctly odd, Pennine town that reminds me very much of Oldham and the outlying villages. Parking in town is a swine, and not merely at the university campus, notwithstanding my impression that the centre seems very much busier, and more hectic than Bradford's nightmare of congestion. The waterside was a very attractive feature and I am hoping to spend some time down by the canal, reading, and writing in the few weeks we have left before the good weather leaves for good.
